SWG Remastered

SWG Remastered

SWG Remastered

We're rebuilding SWG on modern foundations. New client, 64-bit server, combat and movement reworked so it doesn't play like a 20-year-old game. Same sandbox underneath.

SWG was never really about the level cap. It was the life around it. You pick a trade, join a guild, build a city, run a cantina. We're keeping that and fixing the parts that always felt clunky.

The galaxy

The planets

Each planet is one open map, no loading screens. Pick somewhere to settle and go from there. We bring more planets online as they're ready.

Why play here

What we're changing

Story

Quests that go somewhere

The original game didn't have much in the way of story. We're writing actual quests, with plots that go somewhere and NPCs that remember what you did.

Factions

Rebel and Imperial

Each faction has its own missions, shops, and enemies. Which side you pick changes what you play.

Progression

Less grind

The NGE had you grinding the same content on a timer. We cut most of that, so you can level up doing the parts you actually like.

Community

A smaller server

We're not trying to be the biggest server out there. You'll run into the same people, know who built which city, and know who the good crafters are. That's what made SWG worth playing.

Latest updates

  • Combat

    Combat rework underway

Going through combat, retuning attack speed, cooldowns, and how long fights take. Goal is to make it feel responsive instead of floaty.

  • Quality of Life

    Movement and quality-of-life pass

Faster movement plus auto-loot, quest tracking, and better travel. Cutting down the tedious stuff.

  • Server

    64-bit server core is up

The rebuilt server core runs on a modern engine and holds a stable tick. Next step is getting it talking cleanly to the client so we can build past the old limits.

  • Content

Starter quest chain for new players

A short solo quest line, around 20 to 30 minutes, so a new character has somewhere to start instead of getting dropped into nothing.
